Gorgeous Paris is back...

Here she is..............  back and creating havoc in our lives.

Who would have believed she had been so sick twice.  She is just the cutest, but is also the greatest quilt cat, loves playing with all manner of things on my sewing table, but here she is just chillin for a change....

More from life ... each new day

It has been a few days since I posted and wow what has happened in our neck of the woods.  Friday was spent stitching together the hearts I had finished stitching at least three weeks ago.  So as it was such a sunny hot day I thought a trip with the DD's to the park would be such fun.... however DD 2 fell on the slide steps and slammed her knee on the step, and as she never cries when the tears came I knew it was serious.  We however hung out till we got home and carried on through till Sunday and decided as the swelling did not go down and the pain was getting worse,  a trip to the dreaded A & E was imminent.  DH decided he would taker her down and typically as it was not me sitting there for hours on end at A & E it only took them 2 hours and not the typical 6-8 hours I seem to get.  The diagnosis was however better than I expected and only particularly bad bruising around and under the kneecap.  Great,  now we need to get through the resting period to ensure the jazz exam can take place on Sunday......  Kids are not good at resting or doing nothing.....  if only we could do that more...please...if only

Today being Monday was a bit more productive less bodies to organise in the house made it easier to get to the sewing room...  I sewed vinal vynal .. how do you spell that word???  anyway it was fun,,  I was asked about this product by a student so thought I had better have a go at something.  Here is the result.  I will put some tips on sewing with vynal on the Tips and Tricks.

Happy Sunny day today, lots achieved..........

Do you get surprised when you achieve so much in days where you think you will never get anything done!  Well I had one of those days today much to my surprise I have been very productive.  My DD (dear daughter 2) was home sick today and was up last night with nightmares, so hence not much sleep and feeling like I was dragged through a gorse bush, I was not planning to achieve much.

But...................  wait for the following and see my achievements today.  Perhaps it was the sun shining that makes you happy.

Happy Stitching for the next few days.

Sunny Sewing days ... stitching with friends

Well I didn't know where June July went, so just tell me where did August go.....  But stitching with friends makes it all worthwhile.  Life is for laughing, stitching, chatting and just going with the small stuff that comes with each day.

I have been stitching though and have  progressed with some of the projects. Here are a few photos.

An afternoon in the sun at Omaui.................

Does anyone out there know how to hasten the speed of children getting organised for a day out??  That is apart from actually treating them like babies and doing every thing your self.....

We just about didn't have this day out but it was such a warm beautiful day..... who would have thought it was still winter.  Swimming was on the agenda they decided and they needed........... flippers...............swimhats..........??boogie board.............towels.........

Sad thing was we forgot about the insect repellent and that is what we needed the most!!

Perfect day at Omaui.....
too many sandflies

Symposium Stitching- Just all day immersed in .......

Hi again, I have been home from symposium for a week and a half and I now have time to show you what I achieved in these classes...
If you ever get a chance to attend a symposium you should, the international tutor and local tutor immersion is immense and these tutors are very talented you always learn a lot and come back with lots of ideas.  There is also Lectures with international tutors which you get a lot out of also.  The exhibitions themselves are truly inspiring.

More on this quilt later I have also made small wedges and medium wedges and they are then going to be joined to gether.  You may get a glimpse in this next photo.

Love Entwined BOM progress

So sorry I haven't blogged much in July, however I do not know where that month and June have gone, it will be spring soon and the garden will be calling.  I have been gallivanting, at taupo symposium last month and school holidays also.

I have had my head down doing the Yahoo BOM quilt by Esther Aliu - LOVE ENTWINED,

Here is my progress today.  I hope to complete part two by the end of the week, otherwise I will get behind and not a good idea as there is 16 months to go.  I am loving this BOM.

Its nearly midnight time for sleeping.....Until tomorrow's progress
